What Are Mutations?

Mutations are special variants of animals that have unique appearances and significantly higher sell values. Animals can mutate when caught or born, with chances affected by weather, animal level, and other factors.

💡 Quick Fact: A Golden mutation can be worth 2-3x the base value, while Rainbow mutations can be 3-5x or more! Mutated animals are also much rarer for collection purposes.

Different weather conditions provide mutation bonuses to specific animal types. Stack these bonuses with base rates for maximum mutation chance!

Best For: Ocean animals (Fish, Shark, Dolphin, Whale)

💡 Rain is fairly common. Great for farming Ocean biome mutations consistently.

Storm

+10% Mutation Chance

Best For: ALL animals (universal bonus!)

💡 Storm is rare but powerful. Drop everything and hunt during storms!

Rainbow Weather

+15% Mutation Chance

Best For: Rainbow mutations specifically (Lion, Zebra)

💡 EXTREMELY RARE! Rainbow weather is the holy grail for mutation hunting. Appears after rain + sun.

🧮How Mutation Chances Stack

Your final mutation chance is calculated by combining multiple factors. Here's how they work together:

Mutation Chance Formula:

Final Chance = Base Chance + Weather Bonus + Level Bonus + Food Bonus

Base Chance: 2-3%

Every animal has this baseline mutation rate

Weather Bonus: +3% to +15%

Depends on current weather (see table above)

Animal Level Bonus: +0.5% per 10 levels

Higher level animals = better mutation chance

Premium Food Bonus: +2%

Using premium food increases mutation chance

📝 Example Calculation:

Catching a Level 50 Lion during Storm weather with premium food:

• Base chance: 3%
• Storm bonus: +10%
• Level 50 bonus: +2.5% (0.5% × 5)
• Premium food: +2%

= 17.5% mutation chance! 🎉

That's almost 1 in 6 catches will be mutated!

🎯Best Mutation Hunting Strategies

Strategy #1: Weather Watching

Monitor the in-game weather constantly. When you see Storm (⛈️) or Rainbow (🌈) weather, DROP EVERYTHING and start catching!

⚡ Priority: Storm = +10%, Rainbow = +15% mutation chance

Strategy #2: Level Up Your Animals First

Before hunting mutations, level up your target animal to 50+ through feeding. Each 10 levels gives +0.5% mutation chance.

💡 Level 100 animal = +5% mutation bonus!

Strategy #3: Use Premium Food

Invest in premium food from the shop. The +2% mutation bonus adds up quickly when combined with weather and level bonuses.

💰 Cost-effective for high-value animals like Lion and Phoenix

Strategy #4: Target High-Value Animals

Focus mutation hunting on expensive animals. A mutated Lion ($5000 base) with 3x multiplier = $15,000! Much better ROI than mutating cheap animals.

Strategy #5: Biome-Specific Weather Farming

Each biome has different weather patterns. Ocean gets more rain, Desert gets heat waves, Tundra gets snow. Farm the biome that matches your target mutation!

❓Mutation FAQ

Can I force a mutation to happen?

No, mutations are always RNG-based. However, you can dramatically increase your chances by stacking bonuses (weather + level + food). At 17.5% chance, you'll get mutations regularly!

Do bred animals have mutation chances?

Yes! Offspring can be born with mutations. If both parents are mutated, the offspring has a higher chance of inheriting or getting a new mutation.

What's the rarest mutation?

Rainbow mutations are the rarest at 0.5-1% base chance. Rainbow Phoenix is considered the ultimate prize - requires Rainbow weather + high-level Phoenix + lots of luck!

Can I sell mutated animals for more?

Yes! Mutated animals sell for their multiplied value. A $5000 Lion with Golden mutation becomes $10,000-15,000. Rainbow mutations are worth even more!

Does my lasso affect mutation chance?

No, lassos only affect catching difficulty, not mutation chance. However, better lassos let you catch higher-level animals more easily, which indirectly helps mutations!
