All catching strategies tested with 500+ hours gameplay and 1,000+ successful catches. Techniques proven to work on Common through Legendary rarities.

🎮 Catching Basics

How Catching Works

1. Approach Phase

Get within range of the animal (indicated by the lasso icon appearing). Different animals have different detection ranges.

2. Aim Phase

Click and hold to enter aim mode. The lasso circle appears - position it over the animal's center for best accuracy.

3. Throw Phase

Release to throw the lasso. Success depends on: animal speed, your lasso tier, timing, and distance from the animal.

4. Capture Phase

If successful, the animal is instantly added to your collection. If failed, wait for the cooldown and try again.

💡 Pro Tip: The "Sweet Spot"

Aim for the animal's center mass (torso area). Head shots look cool but have inconsistent hitboxes. Body shots = highest success rate.

⏱️ Perfect Timing

Movement Prediction

Animals in Raise Animals move in semi-predictable patterns. Learn these to dramatically improve catch rates:

Idle Animals (Stationary)

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Strategy: Aim directly at center, throw immediately
  • Success Rate: 90%+ with Basic Lasso
  • Best for: Beginners, any rarity

Walking Animals (Slow movement)

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Strategy: Lead the shot slightly in movement direction
  • Lead Distance: 0.5-1 body length ahead
  • Success Rate: 70-80% with practice

Running Animals (Fast movement)

  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Strategy: Significant lead required, or wait for turn
  • Lead Distance: 1.5-2 body lengths ahead
  • Pro Trick: Catch them during direction changes (momentary pause)

Flying/Swimming Animals

  • Difficulty: Variable
  • Strategy: Account for vertical movement + horizontal
  • Best Time: When they surface/land or move horizontally
  • Example: Dolphins - catch during surface jumps

✨ Expert Technique: "Patience Catching"

For fast or erratic animals, don't chase them. Instead:

  1. 1. Position yourself in their patrol path
  2. 2. Pre-aim where they'll be in 2 seconds
  3. 3. Throw as they enter your crosshair
  4. 4. Success rate increases from 40% to 75%+

🎣 Lasso Equipment Tiers

Your lasso tier dramatically affects catch success rates. Higher tiers have faster travel speed, larger catch radius, and shorter cooldowns.

Basic Lasso

50-60% Success

Free (Starting)

Best For:

Common animals, practice

Pros:

  • + Always available
  • + Good for learning

Cons:

  • - Slow travel speed
  • - Small catch radius
  • - Long cooldown (3s)

Rare Lasso

65-75% Success

Cost:

1,000 Cash or 100 Rubies

Best For:

Common-Rare animals, early-mid game

Pros:

  • + 30% faster throw
  • + Larger radius
  • + 2s cooldown

Cons:

  • - Still struggles with fast animals

Epic Lasso

75-85% Success

Epic animals, mutation hunting

Pros:

  • + 50% faster
  • + Much larger radius
  • + 1.5s cooldown

Cons:

  • - Gacha RNG
  • - Expensive to get

Legendary Lasso

90-95% Success

Cost:

1,000 Rubies (Gacha)

Best For:

Legendary animals, speed farming

Pros:

  • + Near instant
  • + Huge radius
  • + 1s cooldown
  • + Almost guaranteed

Cons:

  • - Very rare from gacha

🏆 Catching Strategies by Rarity

Common Animals (60-70% spawn)

Examples: Zebra, Buffalo, Basic Savannah animals

  • Lasso: Basic or Rare is sufficient
  • Strategy: Quantity over quality - catch as many as possible
  • Timing: Don't overthink - throw when reasonably close
  • Best for: Breeding stock, early cash, mutation hunting

Rare Animals (20-30% spawn)

Examples: Lion, Giraffe, Dolphin

  • Lasso: Rare minimum, Epic recommended
  • Strategy: Take your time - missing is costly
  • Timing: Wait for idle or slow movement before throwing
  • Tip: Worth using speed boost items to position better

Epic Animals (5-10% spawn)

Examples: Tiger, Gorilla, Shark

  • Lasso: Epic required, Legendary if available
  • Strategy: DON'T MISS - these are rare spawns
  • Timing: Use patience catching - wait for perfect moment
  • Preparation: Clear area of other animals to avoid misclicks

Legendary Animals (1-3% spawn)

Examples: Elephant, Whale, Polar Bear

  • Lasso: Legendary only - do not attempt with lower tiers
  • Strategy: Alert mode - stop all other activities
  • Timing: Wait for complete idle state before throwing
  • Panic Prevention: Take a breath, steady your hand, aim carefully

⚠️ CRITICAL: Legendary animals may not respawn for 30+ minutes. Missing one is extremely costly. If you don't have Legendary Lasso, consider waiting to upgrade before attempting.

🎓 Advanced Techniques

Camera Angle Optimization

Your camera angle affects throw accuracy more than you think:

✓ Best Angles

  • • Top-down (bird's eye): Easiest aiming
  • • Side view: Good for moving animals
  • • Slight elevation: Balanced perspective

✗ Avoid These Angles

  • • Ground level: Harder to judge distance
  • • Behind animal: Can't see movement direction
  • • Extreme angles: Hitbox issues

Mutation Hunting Optimization

When hunting for mutations (Golden, Rainbow, etc.):

  1. 1
Check before throwing: Mutations have visual indicators (sparkles, color shifts). Don't waste throws on non-mutations.
  2. 2
Prioritize mutations: If you see a mutation, ignore all other animals until caught.
  3. 3
Weather timing: Mutations are 3x more common during specific weather. Plan catching sessions around weather changes.
  4. 4
Quantity strategy: Catch 20-30 common animals during mutation weather to increase odds.

Speed Farming Technique

For maximum animals per hour (useful for money making):

  1. Setup: Use Epic+ Lasso, clear inventory space
  2. Route: Create a circular patrol path through animal spawns
  3. Technique: Quick aim, throw at first opportunity, don't wait for perfect
  4. Rhythm: Throw → Move → Throw → Move (continuous flow)
  5. Target: Common animals only, skip Rare+ (faster catches)
  6. Result: 40-60 animals per 10 minutes with practice

🔧 Troubleshooting Common Issues

Lasso passes through animal

Common Causes:

  • Lag/connection issues
  • Hitbox timing
  • Too far from animal

Solutions:

  • Move closer before throwing (within 10 studs)
  • Aim for center mass, not edges
  • Check internet connection
  • Server hop if persistent lag

Can't catch fast animals

Common Causes:

  • Lasso tier too low
  • Not leading the shot
  • Bad camera angle

Solutions:

  • Upgrade to Rare+ Lasso
  • Practice leading shots (aim ahead of movement)
  • Use patience catching technique (wait for them to come to you)
  • Adjust camera to top-down view

Missing Legendary animals

Common Causes:

  • Panic throwing
  • Inadequate lasso
  • Rushed timing

Solutions:

  • ONLY use Legendary Lasso for Legendary animals
  • Take 5 deep breaths before throwing
  • Wait for complete idle state
  • Practice on Common animals first to calm nerves

Lasso goes the wrong direction

Common Causes:

  • Mouse sensitivity too high
  • Accidental mouse movement
  • Input lag

Solutions:

  • Lower mouse DPI/sensitivity
  • Use steady surface for mouse
  • Hold mouse still during throw animation
  • Consider using controller for more stable aim

📋 Quick Reference Checklist

Before Every Throw:

  • ☐ Is my lasso tier appropriate for this rarity?
  • ☐ Am I close enough (within 10 studs)?
  • ☐ Is the animal idle or moving slowly?
  • ☐ Do I have a clear shot (no obstacles)?
  • ☐ Is my camera at a good angle?
